Do follow blog
What are Blogs good for if not comments and discussion . Yes , that is a thought … I have blogged about personal musings , php scripts, open source and commercial applications such as Wordpress, vBulletin, Magento , my life as a Dmoz editor, my web development company and it’s clients and sometimes even SEO. All this time, I have not written just for making sure i get pageviews, even though I do like to get client queries. But I typically don’t have time to write for every damn thing on the internet .
But sometimes, it does make you feel that talking to yourself alone does not justify writing – I wont deny that. Battling with that frame of mind against being stuck moderating thousands of junk posts every day – i used to keep all comments in the typical Wordpress scenario . But I want to give this DoFollow idea a try. I don’t know wether this will incite more people to initiate a discussion or dialogue , wether my musings are more boring
or wether this will bring only incerasing amount of viagra and casino commenters.
But it is fixed that I have made this Blog a DoFollow blog as long as it makes sense.

Ya if positive and relevent comments are psoted, then this is offcourse a healthful for any blog. I think do follow blogs should be used carefully. People should avoid spamming.

I also joined this “dofollow” movement a few months ago, and at first I was a little bit scared of spam, but today I see nothing happened regarding spammers. Dofollow blogs encourages your readers to spend a few minutes more on your blog to write a comment.

So many people are afraid of what a dofollow will do to their ranking that most blogs today have no user interaction. I don’t think a blogs google ranking is really as important as other sites, I didn’t find your blog through google; in fact, I haven’t found any of the blogs I read through google.
I am still curious to see if this does impact how google ranks you… I’ll stay tuned.

I have visited a lot of blog that at first uses dofollow on their sites but later decided to go back to nofollow due to the different spam that swarms their site. That is the reason why comment policy should be very clear on the site and moderation is still implemented. Good luck to your dofollow action!

Hey, you got me to post! Thanks! It’s to bad Wordpress comes out of the box with the “no follow”. Google I think is the only search engine to look at it that way.

having the nofollow attribute is pointless and it won’t encourage commenting as well as it can’t help boost traffic. following is also one good way of acknowledging good commenters. have a great day!

I think it is a fine line. If you are a follow blog then people will spend more time reading your posts so they can post a reply(this is good for seo as visitors are spending more time on your site).
I think that with more people submitting comments you are creating more free content and keeping it fresh(which search engines love). Plus with all the new content you will get picked up for even longer tail keyword phrases.

There’s really no downside to making your blog with dofollow links, it won’t adversely affect your ranking in google/yahoo in any way… you may have to filter a few more comments but no biggie…

The problem comes when you end up on a big fat list of dofollow blogs.
Watch the spam roll in then!

Those comments with the (spam) next to them, why bother keeping them out of curiosity?
I see you ( or some plugin ) has removed the links, why not just delete them?

A Do Follow blog will receive more visitors at first. Off course that’s because of the dofollow blog search tools.
And yes they they will leave a comment. But I do not think it will improve the quality of you blog. They reply only to reply and get a backlink.
I own a moderated blog in Dutch. And visitors from all over the world are leaving a reply, but they just don’t now the language, so they are not able to leave a GOOD reply. I get replies in english, danish, german….ect….and often from the same IP adres.

You can find a lot of lists with do follow blogs on the internet. If your blog is on the list and has high page rank, you can get a lot of spam.

Actually from SE ranking point of view it like helping each other get visibility, but people get carried away when they are getting a good link and a do follow one and they tend to post irrelevant comments and this leads to nofollow strategy. But do follow link are good for both the sites as long they are responsible and non harassing.

Thank you so much for the quality and consistency of your blog. I hope the spammers keep at bay so I can continue to enjoy your observations and musings made even more beneficial due to the do-follow. Keep up the good work!

I have been considering joining the Dofollow blog. I think it gives readers an extra incentive to join the conversation. I really like how SEOMoz has implemented Dofollow. They will turn off “Nofollow” on your profile link after you have earned 100 points from commenting. Comments earn 1 point, and an additional point if anyone gives it a thumbs up. You can also lose points if your comment gets a thumbs down, so the community becomes self monitoring.

I had a dofollow blog but I had to end up turning comments off altogether because of the amount of spam.
However I have heard that Google is going to start ignoring the ‘nofollow’ tag or that it may be doing so already. Yahoo and Bing also ignore the ‘nofollow’ tag so it will soon be obsolete anyway.

Do follow Blogs is more preferable for webmaster, who are eager to get backlinks and to be ranked in google search engine.Gathering Backlinks work a lot for their website to be ranked up.Also a nice comment make visitors curious to know more about the commentator, which may make some traffic.

Oh the pros and cons of having DoFollow. Pros : You do bring the readers (I use that word loosely), the traffic, and the attention that you want. Cons: You will get a TON of spam if you have a high PR and your link gets passed around. If this doesn’t work for you, you might want to consider CommentLuv.
Honestly, if the comment isn’t blatant spam, let it go… this is what I did for my own blog. I know I use this dofollow comment technique as part of my SEO, but I try to contribute something legitimate back to the blog.

for owner of blog, it is not easy to decide to set dofollow or no follow
